Dance Specialties

Our MVCA members are highly skilled dance leaders in one of more of these dance specialities:

Square Dance Party – A square dance party (sometimes called a hoedown or barn dance) might be just right for your church group, social club, special event (birthday, anniversary), or corporate event.  Square dance parties are fun and relaxing for everybody of all ages.  You don’t need to know a thing about square dancing; our dance leaders will have everybody up and dancing in minutes.  We deliver a mix of square dances, line dances, and traditional dances using modern music to ensure that everybody feels comfortable and has a good time.  Call one of our Square Dance Party leaders for more information (click on Square Dance Party in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above).

Callers – Our square dance callers call and teach modern western square dancing regularly in the Dayton area and beyond.  Contact us to call for your club, special dance, demonstration, and festival (click on Callers in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above).

Cuers – Our round dance cuers are actively engaged in leading and teaching round dance for clubs throughout southwest Ohio and beyond.  Contact us to cue for your club, special dance, demonstration, and festival (click on Cuers in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above).

Contra – Contra and other traditional dance forms are not only fun but also they preserve our dance heritage.  Contact our skilled contra and traditional dance leaders for your next traditional dance function (click on Contra in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above).

Lines – Line dancing is fun and great exercise.  Contact our line dance leaders for your club function or to join one of the many line dance classes in the area (click on Lines in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above).

Apprentices – The MVCA is proud to help and support tonew dance leaders working to perfect their skills in our various dance forms.  Click on Apprentices in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above.

Members at Large – Membership in the MVCA is open to anyone with an interest in dance leadership.  In addition, many of our members who move out of the area like to maintain their relationship with the MVCA even though they may not be available on a routine basis to lead dances in the area.  Click on Members at Large in the drop down menu under Our Members in the black menu bar above to see a list of our members at large and their leadership specialities or areas of interest.
